Formerly the Barons
Girls Classic, this tournament has been held at Bonita Vista High School
and surrounding schools in Chula Vista in December every year since 1979.
Beginning 2003 it is now co-hosted with the new Otay Ranch High School. The
nine-day event is among the largest girls' prep soccer tournaments in
California.
The tournament is a favorite scouting ground for recruiters. The early-season action reveals the raw talent of individual players. Plenty of players have moved on to NCAA teams, professionally (WUSA) and internationally (USA and Mexico). Current information available at the Official Barons Website
