Shannon MacMillan has collected a lot of gold in her time, but the one that means the most came in a semifinal at the 1996 Olympics.

The USA team, having lost the World Cup to Norway the previous year, was about to get knocked out of the Olympic tournament by the same team when Shannon scored the go-ahead goal.

The US went on to win the Olympic gold medal.
