The PHOTOSPORT website is moving, to increase its usefulness and functionality to you. This should continue for a few more days, as the move is taking more time than anticipated. My apologies to anyone inconvenienced by this. As always, email me directly for emergency requests.I am pleased to announce that the PHOTOSPORT website served a record 400,000 visitors last month. This is substantially above the usual 250,000 monthly hit total, and the extra is due almost entirely to interest in the Women's World Cup soccer tournament. As many people were interested in women's soccer last week as the other 57 sporting categories combined!
Though PHOTOSPORT is not an entertainment site, I try to provide content of interest to our non-editorial visitors. There were 48,000 of you last week alone interested in women's soccer articles and photos. Probably that many requested passwords, which I regretfully was unable to issue. I promise you I will get to those before World Cup 2003 (just kidding). Also, I have over 1,000 WWC photos to add to the 18 or so that have been posted, and you'll get to see these if you just hang on.
I have never seen such an avalanche of interest in any one sport before and I can say this bodes extremely well for the future of the sport as well as women's sports in general. Those of you interested in these statistics can view them here.
